3. Do you find it ironic that a piece explaining the importance of sound to help make a message more clear was almost impossible to read due to its super formal style in which it was written?

Indeed. If I had to put money on it, I would say that this was the driest class reading I've had to do all semester in any class. Shipka manages to take something that is interesting in theory and proceeds to make it uninteresting with theory. What would she do if she had to take this paper and make it into a multi-modal piece of work for students like us to learn from? Wouldn't such a format be more appropriate and engaging?
