2) on page 33, is it that we see ourselves in those objects, or are they made to look like faces when they are designed?
-No they aren't made to look like faces but it is human nature to assign emotions and likenesses to otherwise ordinary things. When we do this, we are looking to form extensions of ourselves outside of our normal bodies and perspectives.
