3) Does a lack of audio subtract from the content of a text? Can you describe how it might not?
The lack of audio to text is not necessarily a bad thing. After all, great books have been written and they've been accepted as what they are. In some ways it could be. For example, many people were upset when the Harry Potter series was adapted to audiobook and then the movies because the books were so immersive that people had their own versions of the Wizarding world formulated in their heads. Now that you were able to give characters voices, it ruins the experience just a little bit.
